One of Tremayne’s top priorities is promoting smart economic growth and development. He plans to make East Point more business-friendly by streamlining permitting and licensing processes. Additionally, he is committed to revitalizing Downtown East Point, including the completion of council-approved projects like The Commons, Aquatic Recreation Center, and the renovation of the Auditorium. Tremayne also supports expanding recreational programming for seniors and youth citywide, ensuring that everyone has access to enriching activities.

Another pressing issue Tremayne intends to tackle is the need for a “Litter-Free” East Point. He envisions an “All Hands On-Deck” approach, where residents, businesses, and the city government work together to combat litter blight.

By partnering with organizations like the Atlanta Aerotropolis CIDs and Keep East Point Beautiful, Tremayne plans to implement citywide clean-up efforts and create a cleaner, more beautiful East Point for all of us to enjoy.

Tremayne is also determined to advocate for lower utility rates and modify the Senior Property Tax Exemption. By promoting smart business growth that can absorb the city’s excess power load, he aims to negotiate lower electrical rates, ultimately reducing residents’ utility bills.

Additionally, Tremayne believes in adjusting the Senior Property Tax Exemption to benefit more seniors, reducing the qualifying age to 70 and lowering the income requirement.

…I’ve repeatedly heard you say, East Point Can Do Better” and I wholehearted agree.

– Tremayne Mitchell

When it comes to public safety, Tremayne stands firmly behind the recommendations of our dedicated Public Safety staff. He will support efforts to reduce crime citywide and work towards securing federal funding for improved police infrastructure, including technology and weaponry.

Tremayne also recognizes the importance of healthcare and incentives in recruiting and retaining qualified police and fire personnel, and he will seek to allocate funds for lower healthcare costs and adopt these incentives.
